Date Night With The Hubs At Applebee’s
This restaurant review was a hosted event. All opinions are my own.
Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar announced the addition of its new Big and Bold Grill Combos to its menu, and sent me a personal invite to try some of the new items! So my husband and I decided to have our weekly date night at Applebee’s to try out the new items on the menu.
We were given the option to try The New Big and Bold Grill Combos which included the combination of Grilled Shrimp Skewer with lemon butter sauce and Grilled Chicken Breast with pico de gallo or Grilled Chicken Breast with pico de gallo and ½ rack Baby Back Ribs with choice of Memphis Dry Rubbed or sauced with Spicy Texas BBQ or Honey BBQ, along with 2 sides of our choice.
My Dinner Choice- Grilled Shrimp Skewer and Grilled Chicken Breast
I chose the Grilled Shrimp Skewers and Grilled Chicken Breast with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Garlicky Green Beans with Bacon. The food was plated beautifully as it was placed in front of me. I could smell the garlic and spices used to season the green beans and potatoes. I could hardly wait to take a bite. I immediately went to the shrimp skewer and pulled off the five plump shrimps and popped on in my mouth and they were cooked to perfection. I shared only one with my husband and quickly devoured the others. My next choice was the grilled chicken which paired perfectly with my mashed potatoes with every bite. The green beans were equally as good, the bacon gave them a nice season as they crunch with every bite. Overall the Combo was a perfect amount of food and full of flavor.
Hubbies Dinner Combo- Grilled Chicken Breast with pico de gallo and ½ rack Baby Back Ribs
My husband chose the Grilled Chicken and ½ rack of Baby Back Ribs with Spicy Texas BBQ, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Garlicky Green Beans with Bacon. He was such a copycat with the side dishes! He was like a kid in a candy store when they laid the plate in front of him. He could hardly wait to bite into the ribs all covered in BBQ sauce. I barely got a bite of one before he had eaten all but the bone. He also quickly scarfed down his chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. He stated that he liked everything but wished there were more ribs because they were the best part!
The Dessert- Butterscotch Blondie Brownie Sunday
We always get a dessert to share on date night so our waitress suggested the Butterscotch Blondie Brownie Sunday. The dessert was served on a sizzling cast iron pan with the Blondie so delicately placed in the middle, surrounded by candied pecans, with a mound of Vanilla Ice cream on top. It was heaven on a pan and tasted even better than I imagined. The blondie was warm and gooey and the ice cream offered the perfect cool combination. There was not one bit of the dessert left after we dug our spoons in!
Our overall experience at Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill in Kennesaw, Georgia was good. The food was hot, tasty, and portioned perfectly. The restaurant was clean, organized and the staff was very friendly. Our waitress never let our drinks get more than half full and the managers stopped by our table a few times to make sure everything was as we expected. I would strongly advise anyone to choose your local Applebee’s as a Date Night spot. Don’t forget to try their New Big and Bold Grill Combos.
